Lately, Adama plans to launch an agrochemical packaging tracking system based on blockchain technology in the Brazilian market to ensure product traceability. This will combat counterfeiting and adulteration as well as infringements in other fields.
Using blockchain technology, Adama will make a unique and tamper-proof QR code and print it on its packaging. Users can scan the code with a specific application to verify the authenticity and the origin of the product.
At present, Adama is speeding up the development of system applications and web interfaces. The process is expected to be implemented in the first quarter of 2023 and applied to two or three of Adama’s key products. By 2025, it will implement this technology across its entire product line.
