On September 15, the second phase of Adisseo Nanjing Plant’s liquid methionine project with a production capacity of 180,000 tons/year was officially put into operation. Its overall annual production capacity has reached 350,000 tons combined with the first phase, and it has become one of the world’s largest, most technologically advanced and most competitive liquid methionine production platforms. Yang Shihao, Vice President of Sinochem Holdings and Leading Party Group Member, attended the commissioning ceremony online.

Yang Shihao addressed that, as a leader in the global animal nutrition industry, the products and animal nutrition solutions provided by Adisseo are of great significance to the application of the “low-protein diet” technology advocated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and to the solution of food security. Hopefully, relying on the edges of the production capacity expansion of the Nanjing plant, Bluestar Adisseo will further enhance its competitiveness, increase the penetration of liquid methionine in the Chinese market, facilitate the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of China’s feed and food industry, and implement the important instructions of establishing a “Greater Food” approach proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping with practical actions, and contribute to China’s food security and green and low-carbon development.

Adisseo is one of the few producers capable of producing both liquid and solid methionine, and has the world’s most advanced vertically integrated production process for liquid methionine. In 2009, Adisseo invested in the construction of China’s first liquid methionine plant in Jiangbei New District, Nanjing, filling the gap in domestic methionine production. At the beginning of 2018, Adisseo launched the second phase of the Nanjing factory. Despite various challenges including the COVID-19 pandemic during the four-year preparation and construction process, with the full support of all parties, the project construction has been successfully completed on schedule and set a record of 7.5 million working hours with zero accidents.

With the official launch of the second phase, the production capacity of Adisseo’s Nanjing plant has doubled, and the cost competitive advantage has been further highlighted. It will not only further consolidate Adisseo’s position in China and the Asia-Pacific market, but also deepen Adisseo’s global synergy development concept, to further move up its global market share, create and contribute more value to the global aquaculture industry and consumers.
