Adisseo's Les Roches factory in France has implemented an innovative solution to reduce carbon emissions during the transportation of sulfuric acid, an important raw material for Adisseo's products. The factory has replaced diesel fuel with hydrogenated vegetable oil fuel, resulting in a significant reduction in carbon emissions. Hydrogenated vegetable oil, derived from waste, residual oil and fat, including used cooking oil, has enabled Adisseo to achieve 83 percent reduction in carbon emissions. This reduction is equivalent to 278 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Furthermore, this solution achieves this reduction without incurring additional transportation costs. Adisseo has partnered with three transportation companies, and its Roussillon factory in France will launch a program to decarbonize sulfuric acid transportation. Adisseo plans to expand this initiative to other product lines, further contributing to sustainable development. |
