Adisseo has launched a new “start-up” strategy. By integrating resources allocated for R&D of key species in the aquaculture business, it has improved synergy between aquaculture innovation, products and technical support. This has allowed them to closely meet the needs of customers. This adheres to the principles of market-driven R&D and innovation-driven development.
Since its acquisition of Nutriad, a feed additive manufacturer in 2018, Adisseo has been focusing on the aquaculture sector and has set up an aquaculture team to promote aquaculture-related work. Over the past three years, the delivery volume of Adisseo’s aquaculture specialty products has increased by an average of 20% annually. These products focus on enhancing the resilience and digestion performance of aquatic animals, which are two key areas of development for the global aquafeed industry.
In order to achieve sustainable growth targets in the aquaculture specialty business, Adisseo launched a “start-up” strategy. The aim was to encourage project teams to adopt the innovative model of start-up companies, so as to optimize R&D resources, accelerate new product development, and upgrade and enrich existing product lines.
This “start-up” strategy will manage scientific research projects through the unique Adisseo R&D management model—the “Innodev” process—and screen potential scientific research projects by setting up a pre-selection committee. At the same time, the Adisseo Innovlab team will proactively participate in searching for potential start-ups in the aquaculture industry and promote cooperation. During this process, the Adisseo Singapore Aquaculture Station will be further optimized as an aquaculture R&D platform for the entire business sector, with a focus on R&D projects in Southeast Asia.
